This Full-Time Remote Federal Sales Manager (FSM) – DOD/Intelligence position is responsible for identifying and working with end users, partners, and Vertiv offices to grow the business within Intelligence accounts to meet all goals and objectives. They are the manager of their account portfolio. The primary objective is to increase revenues via partners for channel products of Vertiv, Liebert, Avocent, and Geist solutions. The FSM will work with partners and Vertiv offices to engage and navigate all levels of end user organizations resulting in the above brands being specified by the customer. They will develop a go-to-market selling plan to include organizational structure, decision maker matrix, incumbent vendors, facility locations/potential, and partner ecosystem. The FSM will establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base and penetration within the customer base and contribute to the development of training and educational programs for clients and partners.
The Full-Time Remote FSM has responsibility for growing the Intelligence customer portfolio. They will engage with end users, channel partners and Vertiv offices to ensure maximum revenue growth and mindshare is obtained. The FSM has direct account management responsibility for the Intelligence market segment. They will manage and lead the resources to ensure the proper strategies are in place and necessary engagement occurs as opportunities arise. These resources do not report to the FSM, however, are dotted lined due to their critical roles in the success of identified opportunities and customers.
Full-Time Remote Position—Federal Sales Manager Responsibilities:
Consult with management in formulating a sales and marketing strategy.
Continuous effort to find and recruit new partners into our program, in cooperation with the Federal Channel Manager.
Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
Coordinate and lead activities with inside sales to maximize our ability to identify and close new business.
Develop and maintain sales by exploring and qualifying existing accounts and new accounts/groups.
Develop, present, and execute on account coverage plan which ensures attainment of company goals and quota.
Ensure a high caliber customer response and satisfaction.
Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate customers and new accounts/groups.
Interface with local, regional, and national distribution accounts management and sales.
Maintains accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports.
Provide accurate feedback to management on wins/losses and trends.
Provide input and participate in trade shows within coverage area.
Responsible for partner training and development in cooperation with the Federal Channel Manager.
Responsible for pipeline development and working with partners and Vertiv offices to maintain and manage pipeline in CRM.
Full-Time Remote Position—Federal Sales Manager Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a minimum of five years of work-related skill, knowledge, and experience in a related field.
Security clearance is preferred.
Ability to learn and adapt to a rapidly changing customer and company environment.
Ability to perform in a matrixed management environment at multiple organizational levels.
Detail oriented with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple and competing tasks.
Excellent problem solving, solution development, and presentation abilities.
Formidable understanding of customer segment, market dynamics, and requirements.
Functioning knowledge of IT compute, storage, and networking is preferred.
Leverage industry organizations and resources.
Proven leadership and ability to achieve sales goals.
Self-starter who is action oriented, while exhibiting sound judgement.
Solid organizational skills.
Strong communications skills are required covering written, oral, and visual media.
Understanding of multiple tier product distribution is preferred.
Understanding of Vertiv, Liebert, Avocent, and Geist IT solutions, use cases, and benefits preferred.
Willingness to travel and work as a global team of sales, marketing, and offerings professionals.
Working knowledge of Federal Data Center industry preferred.
